What’s our approach? We look for companies that have solid business models and the ability to grow over the long-term. We try to buy these names opportunistically when the market is selling quality at a discount. Ideally, we want to own the best companies with a very long-term holding period to compound gains while minimizing both trading costs and realized taxable gains.
What’s our edge? Portfolio manager John Zolidis has worked on Wall Street since 1996 and has more than 25 years’ experience analyzing companies as an equity analyst and fund manager operating through multiple market cycles. We do our own work, build our own models, talk to company management teams, visit operations, attend industry events and investment conferences, and talk to a network of professional investors for perspective.
What about risk? All investing involves risk. However, we believe risk can be mitigated via limiting our investments to high quality companies with strong balance sheets, disciplined purchasing of investments when prices are attractive, and by taking a long-term approach. Equity markets are frequently volatile, but the best companies will continue to grow and create value for shareholders even during panics and recessions. Our objective is to select these companies and invest through the cycle.
